Challenger
Posted On Tuesday April 17, 2007 By Baker
Since as far back as I can remember I’ve always been a big follower of NASA and space exploration in general. I remember this moment like it was yesterday. The elementary school I went to at the time brought all the students into the library to see the Challenger launch on TV. It was a big deal and everyone was excited because it was a rare chance to watch TV at school. Then everything went wrong. All of us were held silent by the explosion. After, the teachers struggled to find the words to explain what had just happened. When Columbia broke apart during re-entry in 2003 it took me right back to that moment at school where everyone was in a state of shock and disbelief.
